New cooperation with the DVZO

 

Maybe you have already noticed : There is a new vehicle in the historic station hall of Bauma ! It is the historic Sensetalbahn railcar 101 built in 1938.

 

After last year's use during the extended autumn service of the DVZO, the idea came up to extend the cooperation a bit further. Talks were held between the operating group and the DVZO throughout the winter and a common denominator was quickly reached. In February, a cooperation agreement was signed. 

 

From now on, the railcar will be stationed in Bauma and will be available for trips on the DVZO main line Bauma-Hinwil, but also on the rest of the Swiss standard gauge network. The vehicle is primarily operated by the operating group. The DVZO is allowed to use it and locomotive personnel of the DVZO who are interested in the charm of the 1930s can be instructed for trips with the railcar. 

 

For the DVZO, the railcar 101 is an interesting addition to its range of services. A railcar is particularly suitable for smaller groups of up to 40 people and requires less effort than a steam train or a historic electric train with locomotive and carriages. Furthermore, thanks to the train control system, service trips in the form of vehicle transfers between the DVZO locations in Bauma and Uster can be carried out relatively easily.
